How Should a T-Shirt Fit?

How Should a T-Shirt Fit?

The right fit is what makes a plain t-shirt look intentional instead of accidental. Here's how to think about the three most common fits.

Regular fit

Skims the body without clinging. Shoulders sit at the shoulder line, the hem lands around mid-hip, and the sleeves end mid-bicep. This is the safe everyday choice.

Relaxed fit

A touch more room through the chest and body, with a slightly longer hem. It still looks put-together but feels easier and more comfortable.

Oversized fit

Drops the shoulder seam and adds generous width. Best for a streetwear look, layered over a long-sleeve tee or styled with slim bottoms for balance.

When in doubt, think about how you'll actually wear it. For everyday basics that layer cleanly, start with a regular or relaxed fit.
